Meet Local Authors from Okotoks and the Surrounding Area!

The Foothills Writers Group (FWG) is thrilled to host the second annual Local Authors Bookfair which will showcase the incredible literary talent in Okotoks and surrounding area.
Date: Saturday October 14th, 2023
Time: 11:00 – 3:00 PM
Location: Okotoks Public Library
Address: 23 Riverside Drive, Okotoks, Alberta
Books will be for sale and authors will be available for signing. Join us for games and door prizes!
WRITING CONTEST
The Foothills Writers Group is excited to announce a writing contest for Grade 6 students in the Okotoks Public, Separate, and Francophone schools.
Contest details: Students can submit a handwritten or typed short story in either French or English.
Topic: The story can be on any subject.
Length: 300 words minimum — 1000 words maximum.
Students will need to submit their story, in person, to the Local Author Book Fair on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 from 11 — 3 pm at the Okotoks Public Library. (Parents will need to fill out a permission form.)
Prizes! Prizes! Prizes!
Stories will be judged by the members of Foothills Writers Group, and prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. The overall winner’s story will be published in the Western Wheel.
